Delighted to find Tavira is as nice as it sounds! There ‘s lots to see and do in this city even if you’re not visiting the family and country of a rather forward Portuguese man. The Old House for example is a novel tourist attraction and if that’s not old enough for you, the castle is just up the road. For the best way to reflect on events in the novel – the Gilão River is a top choice (sorry)
