Hulme – Jo lives here and it’s Hulme is an inner city area and electoral ward of Manchester, England, immediately south of Manchester city centre. It has a significant industrial heritage.
Market Street – The busy shopping centre where Laura works close to. She’s unhappy in her job but pleased to be working at the centre of everything.
Spinningfields – the hub of the entertainment and eating area in the city. There’s some fine restaurants here – everything from Brazilian to Japanese. The girls in the book are eating at an unnamed Mexican restaurant.
Deansgate – Rick meets Laura at the station and they walk to his apartment. He jokingly describes it as “The very epicentre of the habitat for the Manchester metropolitan elite”
