Hayley swore when she got out of prison that she would turn her life around. But living on the Devil’s Estate doesn’t make that easy.
By day she’s a mum, but by night she’s a money lender to those in despearate need of funds they can’t get else where. But one night she gets robbed and she realises that she has under twenty-four hours to get the money back, or her boss will come for her.
Someone who Hayley doesn’t want anything more to do with says he can help – her criminal ex-boyfriend. But time is running out, and she has to choose – save herself, or save her soul? If she makes one false move, her life will be over.
Essex Lane Estate is fictional and is said to be somewhere in the East end of London since this is the area the author is from and likes to represent in her novels.
“The attack came out of nowhere. One Minute, twenty – four year old Hayley evens was stepping out of the piss stained lift on the eight floor. The next she was grabbed and slammed into the wall…”
“It was the kind of thing that went on in the place nicknamed the Devil’s Estate. It’s real name was the Essex Lane Estate and Hayley lived on it as well. It was well known for crime despite the residents being good people.”
