Crime is out of control in the port city of Liverpool. Violent gangs are fighting for control of the drugs trail and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of order let alone law.
Ged, Moby and Ratter are just three of the so called blaggers in the city. Ged is planning a big job that will last them through the winter, but then Moby manages to get a contract on his head and suddenly things are not as clear cut anymore.
As the day of the heist approaches, Ged tries to ensure that things still happen the way they planned. Killer instincts are all he has left.
Liverpool according to this novel is one big city awash with drugs and violence. The outlaws of the city run it and the bunch of blaggers, or old fashioned criminals are keen to get and keep their slice of the so-called pie.
Pulling off their last job to remember is not going to be easy. Three crims, each with a distinct voice. This is the language of the bad guys – rough, gritty and very very coarse.
This is the city of gang warfare with many streets with names in the Liverpool accent – Sefton Park for example becomes Sevvy Park.
There’s even a visit to Moses Street where the crims are proud to tell you that it’s where Bread was filmed. Elswick Street is the more noticeable street that you’ll recognise from the TV show.
