With a range of Middle Eastern flavours and ingredients such as cacik, börek, lahmacun and chelo rice,to name but a few, this is a tour guide of traditional Middle Eastern and Persian dishes for a Western audience.
Middle Eastern food it would seem is all about sweet and sour flavours, different colours and textures all mixed up into one amazing dish. Many dishes make up one meal in the Eastern cultures so be preoared to start really getting to know your kitchen and spice rack
And the photographs are very tasty looking – do not lick the pages though – make the dishes instead they taste a lot better!
This is a way of travelling around various location in the Middle East via its food – whilst slaving in your kitchen granted, but then by putting your feet up, inviting around your friends and tucking in to some mouth watering dishes.
Broad beans with garlic, dill and eggs for example is known as Baghala Ghatogh and is a dish from the Northern Provinces of Iran
Yoghuts with Cucumber garlic and dill comes from Turkey and is a staple when ordering any grilled meat dish. It’s pronounced Ja-jik (cacik)
Welcome your taste buds on board for a new adventure. There are a few restaurants mentioned in the places above but they don’t have any relation to the book – just where to eat on location once you’ve read and cooked from the book and get to go for real!
