What you need to know before your trail

For Piglet – an unshakable childhood nickname – getting married is her opportunity to reinvent. Together, Kit and Piglet are the picture of domestic bliss – effortless hosts, planning a covetable wedding … But if a life looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Thirteen days before they are due to be married, Kit reveals an awful truth, cracking the façade Piglet has created. It has the power to strip her of the life she has so carefully built, so smugly shared. To do something about it would be to self-destruct. But what will it cost her to do nothing?

As the hours count down to their wedding, Piglet is torn between a growing appetite and the desire to follow the recipe, follow the rules. Surely, with her husband, she could be herself again. Wouldn’t it be a waste for everything to curdle now?

Travel Guide

London

The book takes place in Oxford and London but neither of these locations are very strong or do they have anything to do with the story really. This is the story of a woman and her relationships  – plus her relationships with food.

You will be hungry for Italian food reading this book so if you are near a restaurant, this is the best place to read  this story.

Booktrailer Review

A story of a woman who moves from Derby to Oxford. She works in London and wants to advance in life. She feels she is on the way up and that’s where she should be.  She tells her story through food and luscious descriptions of it. Oh even if you have eaten a three course meal before tucking into this novel, you will want to devour even more food.

Food is the real setting here although the novel is set in Oxford and London. Piglet’s name for one, her anorexic sister for two and the way that food describes and illustrates so much about the characters in the story.

It’s very deep in places and light and whimsical in others. But it will make you question your own life choices and have the hunger for what is still out there.
