Why a Booktrail?

It’s time to rediscover her magic . . .

  • ISBN: 978-1035045457
  • Genre: Fantasy/Sci Fi

What you need to know before your trail

Belladonna Blackthorn hasn’t lost her magical spark, but she hasn’t seen it in a while either. Balancing work at her beloved London bookshop, Lunar Books, with handling her toxic boss and concealing her witchcraft from those around her – Belle is burnt out. Perfecting the potential of her magic is the last thing on her mind.

But, when her thirtieth birthday brings a summons from her coven and a trial that tests her worthiness as a witch, Belle risks losing her magic for ever. With the month of October to fix things and signs that dark forces may be working against her, Belle will need all the help she can get – from the women in her life, from an unlikely mentor figure and even from an (infuriating) coven watchman who’s sworn to protect her . . .

Travel Guide

Lunar Books

Sadly the store isn’t real but take a look at Hurlingham Books and it really conjures up the same feels!

This is a magical and witchery book and scene setting is witchy and dark.

There ‘s Highgate Cemetery and the nearby woods to deal with. Then we have Queen’s Gate and the wonderfully named Quill Lane.

Booktrailer Review

What a fun and cosy book. I don’t tend to enjoy many fantasy books but this was just so welcoming and nice! It’s set in London but feels other wordly. Great to read in autumn with all its cosy vibes.

Belladonna Blackthorn is perhaps the best name ever for a witch. I loved the magical trials they all go through. Oh and let’s not forget the magical bookshop that this all takes place in! Is this real? do we know? has someone checked?

(I have and sadly it’s not – boo!)

The story is strong and the overall feel whimsical and gothic. Some serious subjects such as identity and being yourself and that was a nice surprise but a welcome one.
