For some it’s a sign of great events to come. For others, it’s merely the start of something dark, dangerous and potentially deadly…

Travel Guide

If dusty and dangerous medieval lands are your thing then from the very first page
The novel opens within an ancient citadel in Turkey  – in the city of Ruin (fictional). One of the monks there has seemingly gone missing and when filmed by the world’s media, a robed man is seen throwing himself off the top of the old building, people watch in absolute horror.
The majestic citadel stands tall –

“The spring sun rose early and clear, casting long shadows down the valley. At this time of year, it rose above the red Taurus peaks and shone directly down the great boulevard to the heart of the city where the road circling the Citadel picked out three other ancient thoroughfares each marking a precise point on the compass.”

The monastery has some chilling secrets for one monk who has managed to join the high ranks of the Sancti  order, he has had the honour of seeing the Sacrement. But now he has jumped – with a phone number and some seeds which lead to a riddle.
This monk, who is not allowed to have contact with any living relative, has  a sister who lives in New York and when she comes to Turkey her only goal is to find out why her brother jumped. Getting help from a secret society who are against the monks and their secret, the maze of intrigue leads them deeper and deeper in to the  dark and mysterious medieval land –

“A flash of light filled his skull as it struck the rock floor.”

If that is the first line, where is this book going to take you next?
