The novel opens within an ancient citadel in Turkey – in the city of Ruin (fictional). One of the monks there has seemingly gone missing and when filmed by the world’s media, a robed man is seen throwing himself off the top of the old building, people watch in absolute horror.
The majestic citadel stands tall –
The monastery has some chilling secrets for one monk who has managed to join the high ranks of the Sancti order, he has had the honour of seeing the Sacrement. But now he has jumped – with a phone number and some seeds which lead to a riddle.
This monk, who is not allowed to have contact with any living relative, has a sister who lives in New York and when she comes to Turkey her only goal is to find out why her brother jumped. Getting help from a secret society who are against the monks and their secret, the maze of intrigue leads them deeper and deeper in to the dark and mysterious medieval land –
