Life in this version of Singapore is a jumble of sad and sorry women trawling the clubs and bars for husbands, or at least rich boyfriends.
They go from club to club and hang off the arms of men they want to attract. The next stage is to warm their beds and empty their wallets for as long as they can.
This is a party city which never sleeps. This is an Asian city with ancient cultures and lifestyles but now a city hell bent on drinking and partying if this novel is to be believed.
The nightlife is brought to vivid neon light. You’ll be drinking that iced tea from Long island as they do in the book. Not with the lecherous men beside you though.
This city is loud, unforgiving, sexy, grotty, cultured, cultured and traditional and everything in between. The city’s smart tall offices compete with the down at heel bars.
