What you need to know before your trail

Indigo Tea Shop owner Theodosia Browning is attending the Heritage Society’s Pirates and Plunder show when a history intern is murdered amidst the gold earrings and doubloons.

Even with that on her plate, Theodosia still has to attend Charleston’s Food and Wine Festival, where she’s hosting a tea and cheese tasting. But as her thoughts keep drifting to the victim, Theodosia knows she’ll have to whet her investigative skills to find the killer among a schooner of suspects.

Travel Guide

Charleston

There is history and high jinks in this novel as right in the centre of a historical town, the theatre is having a pirates and plunder show. The downtown area of Charleston is surrounded by water so there’s good scope for wandering around the area and trying to spot one or two on the open sea. The boat rides should also help getting immersed in the book’s background.

As for the tea shop, sadly the Indigo one is fictional but the tea and scones aren’t! They can be found around the city in various small cafes. The Bearded Cafe is on the map as this as well as selling nice cakes, sounds very pirate inspired.
