Aidan has lived in Cedar Ridge all his live and comes from a very close-knit family. He is a well liked people in the community and takes pride from this, the sense of belonging and feeling wanted. His work for the Colorado Wildland Firefighters is his dream – now he can rescue, search and rescue and feel part of a team doing good for the community he has been part of for years.
Cedar Ridge is also important to Lily but it’s also the place for bad memories. She’s only back this time as she had to return for a job, but the bad memories and guilt. It must be hard for her to return to a place which holds such torment for her and a romance with a man she has regretted leaving ever since. To walk the same streets, to go to the same places….Cedar Ridge is small and you’re bound to bump into the very person you’re not sure you want to see…within ten minutes of arriving!
The rugged background is the ultimate, perfect environment for this rugged fireman. It’s the setting for adventure and for a new adventure and for returning to face your old feelings. The PERFECT setting for romance!

Once you have a mental picture of Aidan in your head, you wont want to leave Cedar Ridge yourself. The humour and joy in this book really puts it above the rest of recent summer romances books. I loved the witty comments and asides and could literally feel the sweat of my own brow as Aidan and Lily appeared on the page. The tension in the air and the obstacles in the way for them getting together are believable and guide you along a rocky path – apt for the mountain setting -it was a lot of fun getting to know the couple separately and their own reasons for the past.
The characters seemed like real people. With problems, issues and thoughts of their own. And sorry, but maybe it was the right time to have a hunky fireman in my book life, but Aidan it was great to meet you!
