2000s: DCI Serena Flanagan’s second case looks set to be even more devastating than the first
DCI Serena Flanagan is still reeling from the case in book one whereby her home was invaded and her husband left for dead.
Now she’s working on the case of what seems to be the suicide of a severely disabled local businessman. But she doesn’t think that things are that straight forward in the case and that something is amiss. The widower for one is not acting right. There’s talk of a close relationship with the local rector and so Serena is keen to follow that lead as she sees it.
However with her family life in turmoil and her mind not where it should be, could it be that Serena’s determination to unlock the mystery of what happened in that house may well cost her not only her job but her family too.
