2000s: Imagine if someone was trying to ensure that you stayed missing?
2000s: Imagine if someone was trying to ensure that you stayed missing?
Esther travels alone to a paradise beach resort in Malaysia to recover following a relationship break-up. But one day on a boat trip, she and her fellow passengers find themselves stranded. And strange things start to happen. It feels as if someone doesn’t want her to return home but who?
and just what secrets do her other ‘ strandees’ have ?
This definitely will not make you want to go on a boat trip anytime soon – that’s for sure!.
Esther journeys to Kuala Lumpa to Kuala Terrengganu, to Kuala Besut and then takes the boat and heads to the Perhentians, Kecil and Besar. And the journey she goes on even before she hits the island where she is stranded is a journey through the sticky heat, the stunning backdrop of the sea towards a environment that would not be out of place in Lord of the Flies.
Once on the island of course the landscape becomes a haven and then a burden to those surviving amongst the vegetation and the unknown. It’s uninhabited and remote. When Samet takes them over to the island on his boat and then returns to the island of Kecil to fetch his lighter (needed for the barbecue) he never returns. Stranded then becomes a whole other novel entirely and the question of survival and what will happen becomes the question on everyones lips.
How well do you know your fellow travellers when you have to depend on each other?
