What you need to know before your trail

When Alice Appleton’s boyfriend dumps her out of the blue, just after she has lost her mother, she‘s knocked sideways. Escaping to the stunning Dorset coast, she takes a job at the crumbling Castle Café. It’s a million miles away from her busy London lifestyle, and she knows her mum would approve. Surrounded by cream teas and welcoming faces, could the quirky seaside village be the perfect place for Alice to heal her broken heart this summer?

Mysterious and handsome Jay O’Donnell has lived in picturesque Castle Cove since he was a child. Haunted by a tragedy from his past, he’s on a mission to save as many people as possible as a lifeboat volunteer. When newcomer Alice catches his eye, Jay he has to remind himself he can have no distractions. But he begins to realise that it might just be his turn to be rescued…

As Alice and Jay find in each other someone they can really talk to, will they learn the importance of letting go to make way for second chances?

The seaside village of Castle Cove is fictional but there’s a lovely place in real life called Lulworth Cove worth a visit. The nearest castle though is Corfe Castle which isn’t near a seaside town. Still a little imagination never hurt anyone!

There’s a little bit of the cafe in this story but the real focus is on the town and the setting in general. This is a place where Alice comes to recover and grief after her mother passes away. She’d promised her mum that she would compete in a triathlon with her so now she’s determined to fulfill that wish  to honour her memory.

If only she could overcome her fear of the sea! This is where she meets the rather lovely Jay – a volunteer as a lifeboat rescuer. But he too harbours a painful secret….

Castle Cove really is a haven of comfort and new beginnings! And it’s got some lovely places mentioned within – The Little Treasures Antique Shop, The Picture Perfect art gallery and Castle Cove Vets….
