2000s: Who can you really trust?
A hot beach. A young family on holiday. A fatal moment of inattention…
And now Dave Jepsom is in their lives.
Dave Jepsom, with his muscles, his pale eyes, his expressionless face.
He saved their child. How can they ever repay him? Especially as what he seems to want in return is everything.
But it’s never how it starts that matters. It’s always how it ends.
No locations as such although the novel is mainly set in and around London and the countryside close by. The opening sequences when the couple meet Dave Jepsom is somewhere in Greece but the exact beach is never named. The real setting here however are the dark shadows in your mind and your subconcious.
The family live in Balham. Certain scenes between two characters take place in Dulwich and Nobu. There’s even a bit of an outing for these two at the South Bank.
