On Everdene Sands, there is a row of multicouloured beach huts, pretty wooden hideaways which if walls could talk would be able to tell you a tale or two. Stories of unrequited love, plain old-fashioned lust, childhood dreams and long-forgotten hopes…
Now there is one for sale – TheShack is for Sale – the first hut to be built on this renowned stretch of golden sand…’
Jane Milton doesn’t want to sell her beloved beach hut, but when her husband dies, leaving her with an overwhelming string of debts, she has no choice but to sell.
But what kind of stories and secrets are hidden behind the doors of the other beach huts?
Sadly fictional but more than inspired by Woolacombe in Devon. Read Veronica’s interview in the Western Daily Press about her inspiration.
What does go on behind the doors of a beach hut? Some have been in families for years and have you ever wondered who owns them? The author says that this has always fascinated here and that she used to eavesdrop over the windbreaker and then later this became the setting for her book.
Woolacombe Bay is Everdene Sands for when you visit, you see just how attractive and enticing those sands are. The Owners of the beach huts return once again for a summer to remember and to sit by the sea and recharge their batteries, and remember their memories of summers past.
There’s many people on the beach this summer – Jenna the Ice cream girl, Elodie, and Rachel and Tim who share the small space despite their problems. Brothers Vince and Chris are recovering from their grief
Each beach hut reveals secrets, heartwarming stories, heartache, lies, changes and lots more besides.
