What you need to know before your trail

When a baby goes missing on a lonely roadside in Australia, it sets off a police investigation that will become a media sensation and dinner-table talk across the world.

Lies, rumours and guilt snowball, causing the parents, Joanna and Alistair, to slowly turn against each other.

Finally Joanna starts thinking the unthinkable: could the truth be even more terrible than she suspected? And what will it take to make things right?

Travel Guide

Glasgow and Melbourne

The TV version starts off in Glasgow where the couple live with their young baby. Several places in and around the city are sighted during the series. The couple live in the centre but much of the time is set in the school where they meet and of course, their home when the baby is born.

Melbourne

They head to Australia on a very long and tiring flight when the baby won’t sleep and cries waking everyone else up. Many parents will recognise the scenes here!

Where do they move to?

Queenscliff  Victoria, was used for filming as it is a small town on the Bellarine Peninsula in southern Victoria, Australia, south of Swan Bay at the entrance to Port Phillip.

The scenes were shot in and around Queenscliff with visits to Portarlington Lighthouse and the surrounding beaches. It really is glorious to see!

It had to be  setting that was in complete contrast to the dull skies of Glasgow and the built up area of the city. Australia really needs to be a holiday of sorts for the couple as they need it with a young baby but they are trying to get custody of the husband’s child by his ex wife. She’s taking the daughter home with her, so they follow.

But on a dark night at the roadside the baby goes missing….
