Glasgow 1920s
Glasgow in the 1920s is a nice place to be immersed in via this novel. There are many places in the novel and characters live across various parts of the city.
This is about the empowerment of women. Mabel is one of two policewomen in the city and helps a bunch of women to fight their corner when they suffer abuse at the hands of one man.
The city and society of the time is well-evoked.
