Is it possible to escape from prison by trading places with another inmate?
It’s such a crazy idea that the two inmates involved realise that it actually could work..
If it fails, then they both end up in deeper trouble than they already are. But just think if it really came off?
Colin Burrows is desperate. Recently sent to prison for burglary, he knows that his four year sentence means that he will miss the birth of his first child.
He shares a cell with Barry Marsden who unlike most other inmates actually likes prison life because he has come from a very difficult background. So, he is not happy that he is about to be released.
So the perfect scenario for a switch – and the answer to both Colin and Barry’s predicaments?
Colin lay on his prison bed, staring up at the ceiling. He had never is all this life felt as depressed a worthless as he did now. All he wanted was to be left alone in this one man cells on West wing at Barfield prison. Barfield prison is fictional but is near Croydon. The Real HMP High Down is a prison in nearby Sutton
Colin used to live in Croydon with his pregnant wife but he got caught stealing food from fast food joints –
“I never thought I’d get caught, but they got me in Clapham High Street last time.”
He has to appear before Clapham magistrates court to get ‘released’ and then head off to St Mary’s hospital. But will he make it?
