Edinburgh Rebus style is a maze of streets, alleyways and cobbled lanes. It’s also the place to be if you’re a student with the city hosting three universities and many colleges.
There’s a new boss in town, Gill Templer, who is annoying Rebus in more ways than one. No he does not want to see a doctor thank you very much. Rebus however knows the city like the back of his hand and believes that there are striking similarities between cold cases in the city. So his investigations take him back to old haunts and old cases, old streets.
And the oldest sign of the city itself -the well admired and historical museum which starts Rebus on the trail of the old Edinburgh the Edinburgh of death and destruction and mysteries that date back to 1836. The minature coffins were inspired by a real tale in 1837 when 17 of them were found in a cave on Arthur’s Seat. You can still see them now in the National Museum of Scotland
