What you need to know before your trail

My name is Sarah Grey

I knew of Harry Price before I became his trusted assistant. He was notorious – London’s greatest ghost hunter.

Working alongside Harry meant devoting myself to his work, leaving behind my past – and I trusted him.

I knew of Borley Rectory, too, before I visited it with Harry – supposedly the most haunted house in England.

I knew there was no such thing as phantoms; the many witnesses must be made, or lying.I knew I could visit Borley Rectory without fear, return without harm.

These are the things I thought I knew.

I now understand the true meaning of terror.

Travel Guide

The haunting of the Borley Rectory in Essex is said to have started after a local nun and monk fell in love and attempted to run away and get married. However, they were found and sentenced to death. Those living in the rectory report seeing and hearing the same strange noises and weird goings on. Strange writing appears on the walls, objects move of their own accord. Is the nun back to seek some answers?

The appearance of Arthur Conan Doyle at the beginning of the story is particularly fascinating since he is deeply involved with the subject of spiritualism and he and Harry Price are often at loggerheads over the fact or fiction argument. The creator of Sherlock Holmes became so involved with spiritualism that he was buried standing up in accordance with his spiritualism beliefs. This book we’re sure will make you do the same.

This is where the real story of the ghost hunters begins – taking place over some years and the investigations, sightings and seance held at the rectory. witness statements from various inhabitants over the years are important clues to the mystery.

There are many twists and turns to this. Nothing is what it seems

Is there a ghost or isn’t there? How can the subsequent events be explained? Can they be explained?

Borley Rectory was sadly destroyed by fire and so no longer exists but the story and legend do.

Based on the life and experiences of Harry Price (1881-1948) who was a real psychic researcher; a sceptic renowned for exposing fake spiritualists

Booktrailer Review

Clare @thebooktrailer

I had only slightly heard of Harry Price and the mystery of Borley Rectory before reading this book but the idea and the possible fact or fiction behind it was something I just could not ignore.

It sounded such an interesting premise and once I had mentioned it to friends and family (who had all heard of the story) they all told me to read it and then tell them what it was all about – they were dying to hear the tale behind it all….
