1920s: The most gruesome photo shoot that you will ever witness
When Peter Duvett accepts a job as assistant to esteemed photographer Vienna Linn, he finds himself falling in love with Linn’s beautiful wife, Kala, and with her obsession with spirit pictures – photographs in which the faces of the long-dead mysteriously appear during the process of development. But this is not the most spooky of it all – the photographer actually arranges accidents so he can photograph them for his sick client.
Churchill is located on the Hudson Bay and is so far north, many polar bears make it their home. Beluga whales come to live here in warmer months and you can even see the Northern Lights at certain times of the year. To have a story which focuses on photographs and their ghostly visions, it’s a ethereal place at times but all the while magical.
Halifax is an old and very atmospheric town that has a lot of treasures to discover. Aptly for this story, there are many places to go on ghostly walks and to take ghostly pictures at night. Visit the heritage sites and pretend like it’s the 1920s.
