Vivien’s Heavenly Ice cream shop on Brighton’s sea front is doing well and Anna and her husband Matteo have been working hard getting it just right and inventing and of course trying the various flavours they both come up with. Now however Matteo is getting a little homesick for Italy and suggests going back there and not just for a holiday. Why don’t they open up an ice cream shop over there and live the Italian ice cream dream?
That’s before the family get involved of course and Imogen, Anna’s sister gets a taste of the Italian dream too.

Imagine the scene – you’re sitting on the Sorrento coast ice cream in one hand and a good book in the other. That book should be The Heavenly Italian Ice Cream shop as it is THE ultimate guide to all things Italian and the sweeter tasting side of life there.
But the lure of Italy draws Matteo back to Italy as he wants daughter Bella to taste the Italian lifestyle. Can we come too?
So Sorrento is the destination of choice – and also the ice cream flavour of choice and the description of one could well be that of the other! Sorrento is a place that meant so much to Anna’s grandmother Vivien and so the ice cream journey comes full circle.

The ice cream shop in Sorrento is located in one of the most perfect settings –
“Elegant shuttered appartments and cobblestones surrounded them and as Anna breathed in she could smell the sweet aromas coming from the bakery.
“A flock of birds rose from the fountain in the centre of the square…”
The nuts in the smooth ice cream come in the guise of Matteo’s somewhat overbearing family and the figure of his mother is at first a hindrance and then a great character full of Italian passion and pride. Very funny too.
Imogen meanwhile has her own set of problems but her chance of travelling to Capri is her chance to realise her own dreams and to allow the Italian magic to work away on her.
The booktrail shows you the places in Sorrento as once there we got stuck in the ice creams and there is so much to see here! This is the real magic of this book.
