1889 – 1980: The life and times of Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank
Otto Frank is the father of the famous Anne. The girl whose diary told us more about the 2WW and living under the threat of being discovered by the Nazis than any other read. It was her father who discovered her diaries after her death and who was determined to see them published for the whole world to read.
Otto was born into a prosperous Jewish family in Berlin, his life was a portrait in miniature of the century. Decorated after the Battle of the Somme, he was forced to flee Germany in the 1930s. Betrayed and imprisoned by the Nazis in the Holocaust, he finally gained recognition by bearing witness to the writings of his young daughter.
