My darling Cecilia, if you’re reading this, then I’ve died…
Celia finds that her husband has written her a letter asking that it be opened only on the event of his death
She opens it.
Ironically, what she discovers might well make her want to kill him – for this secret has the power to destroy not only her life and that of her family but others too.
This novel is all about the myth of Pandora ‘s Box – what you do or try to do when you know something that you would rather un-know.
Three women’s lives collide in Suburban Australia and Cecilia Fitzpatrick is a typical example. She could be one of those women wearing an apron in a perfect home magazine – as President of St Angela’s Primary Parents and Citizens Association and the tupperware queen of the local area, she is well known in her community
So when Cecilia finds this letter and her perfect world comes tumbling down then this is what the novel really is about.
