What you need to know before your trail

Global warming has gone up a few gears and is accelerating at a very fast pace.

The ice has practically gone from the Arctic and so the seas and passages around the region are accessible to ships.
But for some, global warming has created spectacular possibilities – and cruise ships sail hoping to see the next wildlife sighting. But they find something very shocking indeed – a dead body
The body is that of Tom Harding, an environmentalist, who with his friend Sean Cawson bought an old whaling station years ago in order to make it into a retreat for the rich and famous
But Sean often clashed with Tom’s interest in the region. Has rivalry in the frozen North led to death?

Travel Guide

The Arctic

Imagine the day before tomorrow has happened

You buy an old whaling station on Midgard Glacier near Svalbard, close to the Norwegian and Russian coast. This is a place which has, until now, been frozen in ice, frozen in time and cut off from the world. Shipping passages previously out of bounds are now the playground of the rich and famous.

But under this ice, there is a whole new world. Glaciers, sunken ice blocks, and ice calves where the ice sinks into the sea revealing a kind of sink hole in the ocean. A body floats out from a cave..as the cruise  ship zig zags through the icefields.

Many people have come to this place before to try and conquer, discover, explore…each of the chapters begins with snippets of the diaries of famous Arctic explorers …this is a new land, a new undiscovered and dangerous land…

This is a world in pieces – ice pieces but also a crevice has formed between nature and human environment. Animals have had to flee to find new habitats, humans try to conquer these new lands previously out of reach to them. But can the unknown ever be conquered…when cracks appear where you least expect them…
