Stacey had thought Liam was the one for her. The perfect guy. As well as being a fellow survey geologist, he is intelligent and they talk about everything they share an interest in. He even looks good in a tux. But he is bad for keeping secrets which could damage everything she cares about.
And in the desolate, remote and unforgiving landscape of the Pilbara, they are about to hit their biggest obstacle yet. Will they get over it?
The Pilbara is a remote, red landscape which is famous for its mining towns and raw mineral deposits. It is a cold and unforgiving place, craggy and often dangerous with its many creeks, gullies and ridges. So to get a puncture out here is far from ideal.
The obstacles are both in their relationship as well as in the landscape and so the two complete each other perfectly – for the cracks in their relationship are exposed to the elements, laid out in the heat of the sun, at the mercy of the elements and the animals which inhabit these parts.
You can tell the author knows this area well – she’s worked as an engineer and investigator in the area and in her bio, its said that she has seen the area from the air and from the windscreen of a four wheel drive
A short story which gives a snapshot of a unique part of the world.
