A cat and mouse chase across the USA

With the action of the book flashing before your eyes  since the action is all set over just a few days. Real time almost and it certainly feels as if we’re chasing him along with Blake since it’s non stop from the word go.

A race across the deserts and remote American landscapes before a huge finale which you know is coming but don’t know where or when. The man they’re chasing seems to want to kill purely for the thrill of it, and he seems to out run them at every turn. The killer is ready –

“There was a line of trees a quarter of a mile south. Wardell slung the rifle under his arm, cast a final glance at the barn roof, and then he was gone. Gone to look for America”

With Blake and the FBI hot on his tails, but with very different reasons for wanting him captured, the explosion when it comes is booming. And the preparation for tracking him down –
