The story mainly takes place in and around the streets of London but places are only mentioned once or twice and they don’t form the setting really. Mac lives on Holloway Road for example, Clara’s window looks out on Hoxton Square and  two characters both work at a publishers in Soho.

There’s one or two jaunts to Peterborough and one noticeable visit to the library – hoorah! – but the rest of the settings are vague. The real story is what’s going on inside the characters homes behind closed doors, and in their minds…

Booktrailer Review

Susan: @thebooktrailer

A captivating, tense and complex read. A missing person’s case is made into something totally more than what you’re expecting. I was confused reading this, but in a very good way as the characters try to make sense of what’s going on and it’s all very compelling being on that journey with them!

Imagine you wake up one morning and the person you expect to be lying there beside you is not where to be seen. Totally out of character for him to go missing. So you start investigating – but why is the best friend being so helpful? What is wrong with the brother and the neighbour? Not to mention the parents?

You’ll feel like a sponge by the end of it all – having totally soaked it all up only the final twists an turns wringing everything out of you leaving you high and dry. Now that’s a good read!
