Thomas Nesbitt is a divorced middle aged American writer. He lives in Maine and spends mucf of his time thinking of the marriage which he knew was wrong from the beginning. He’s in touch with his daughter but most of the time he spends alone.
So when a box arrives at his door with a Berlin postmark on it, he shivers. For it was in Berlin that he had the most intense of love affairs more than 26 years ago – at a time when the city was torn in two by war, political allegiances and more. He hesitates to open the box but finds that he must and is therefore forced to grapple with a past he has never discussed with any living person – and in the process relive those months in Berlin, when he discovered, for the first and only time in his life, the full, extraordinary force of true love
Petra Dussmann however was not an ordinary woman and had secrets of her own that no -one knew. Not even now.
