When a severed head is found on a stake in the quiet town of Larvik, Police Inspector William Wisting is called in to investigate.
As the media closes in on the biggest story of the year, Wisting’s journalist daughter Line receives a tip. Soon, it becomes clear that there is more to this case than anyone thought. Larvik is a town in Vestfold og Telemark county. There are about 46,364 inhabitants. The coastline measures some 110 km.
Larvik is known as the hometown of Thor Heyerdahl – a Norwegian adventurer and ethnographer with a background in zoology, botany and geography. He is known for his Kon-Tiki expedition in 1947, when he sailed 5,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean in a home made raft from South America to the Tuamotu Islands.
It is also home of Norway’s only natural mineral water spring, Farriskilden.
