What you need to know before your trail

When Helen moves abroad with her loving husband Gary, she can’t wait to meet her fellow expat teachers from the local International School. But her new start is about to become her worst nightmare…

As soon as the charming family across the way welcome Helen into their home, she begins to suspect that all is not as it seems. Then Gary starts to behave strangely and a child goes missing, vanished without a trace.

When violence and tragedy strike, cracks appear in the community, and Helen realises her perfect neighbours are capable of almost anything…

Travel Guide

Travel to an expat community at an international school in Germany

Locations and the school are, for obvious reasons, fictional.

Helen moves into an exciting new neighbourhood, in Germany where she’s just moved with her husband. He works out there and she gets a job at the International School. It seems that every neighbour works there and life revolves around the school, its activities and the head, Louisa. She’s in charge of the school and everyone who works there, lives near her and anyone else she chooses. Think The Stepford Wives kind of village. It’s all very closeted and claustrophobic. Louisa seems to be on every committee, is the neighbourhood gossip, chief curtain twitcher and there’s something not quite right…

Imagine living in a new country, where the language and the habits are all a bit new. Where your house on arrival is a bit of  amess and where  your new life is not at all how you imagine. This is one scary neighbourhood….everyone knows you, what you are doing, where you are going and there’s  set of behaviours and activities you’re supposed to just fall in line with.
