In an isolated stretch of eastern Kentucky, on a hilltop known as Blade Ridge, stands a lighthouse that illuminates nothing but the surrounding woods. One day its builder is found dead at the top of the light, and his belongings reveal a troubling local history.
Kevin Kimble, the deputy sheriff , feels very uncormfortable with the lighthouse-keeper’s death. Years ago, Kimble was shot while on duty. He soon realises that this death seems to be connected to what happened to him. But how?
Meanwhile nearby, Audrey Clark is in the midst of moving her large-cat sanctuary onto land adjacent to the lighthouse. She has quite a collection. Sixty-seven tigers, lions, leopards, and one legendary black panther. Her husband, the sanctuary’s founder, died scouting the new property, and Audrey is determined to see his vision through.
But the animals are getting restless and the air around the lighthouse is heavy with foreboding….
Fictional thank goodness for the setting is one scary , chilling place to be.
The only light is that of the lighthouse and it’s so bright, it’s blinding and you can see nothing if it happens to catch your eye.
Darkness, isolation and a lighthouse which casts an eerie glow over the rocky desolate landscape.
Close to this lighthouse, the presence of animals roaming in a sanctuary is an eerie thought as these are the wildest of the wild animals. Big cats creep over the hills, they don’t walk. They creep and pounce and kill for food.
Isolation, darkness and death
And hungry predators…
