Travel Guide

Windsor

Windsor Castle is the main setting in the novel and the author has taken lots of inspiration from the real library and people who worked there. She has also changed some details of course but the story is amazing true or not.

The other locations include Buckingham Castle and Mi6. Then we have Vienna with Prater Park and the event of 1938 being given a mention. It is one of the symbols of Vienna. Used for centuries as the imperial hunting grounds, it was opened to the public in 1766.

Philadelphia is a backdrop to the story.

Booktrailer Review

A very unique story about a woman who comes to work in Windsor Castle on their communications. She is from Austria and has experienced the rise of fascism there so she is looked upon with suspicion.

The scenes set at the library at windsor castle were fascinating – richly drawn and well researched. What a job it must have been making sure negative articles about the royal family were kept from prying eyes. Of course, there is more to it than that but the author kept it compelling and mysterious.

It was such an interesting way of telling a little know story and the use of fact and fiction mixed was really good.
