Letty runs the most gorgeous of tea shops in the town of Scarborough and it’s the favourite meeting spot of Kat, Charlie and Séraphine as they use tea as a way of building up a heartwarming friendship. Each of them is in town for a different reason – Séraphine an au pair hopes for two things to improve – her English and the weather, Kat is looking for a job but life as a single mother is not very easy, and Charlie, a food writer from London is in town to visit her sister. These are not the only three people at the table though as a secret hovers over one head which could threaten everything.
Take a cup of tea at a seaside cafe in Scarborough? On go on then and there are plenty to choose from. Lucky as once Charlie and friends start to write about them for the food magazine she writes for in London, they aren’t so keen to write about the one place they all love for fear of everyone finding out and making it an open secret. When they eat the varied cakes and pastries on offer and drink tea and put the worlds to rights, you can understand why they would want to keep this between themselves.
In a tranquil location overlooking the sandy cove this tea room is a place caught in time. Once inside, with a cup of expertly selected tea warming your hans, you ll rediscover something that in the hurry of life, is to easily forgotten.
