The Refugee Experience

Two Mongolian brothers  try their best to integrate into England and find themselves in Bootle, Liverpool, where they go to school and try to fit in. Imagine the culture shock at any age but to be young refugees and to experience such a change from Mongolia to Liverpool must be a huge life shift.

There is a girl in the class to who is chosen to be their Good Guide and show them around which she does – show them where everything is, how to do things, how life in school here is.

Chingis, the older of the two brothers brings photographs and items from home in Mongolia and he soon enthralls the class with his stories. The photos are contained in the book which gives the whole story  a lovely touch!
