Tess’s number one priority has always been her three-year-old daughter Poppy. But splitting up with Poppy’s father Jason means that she cannot always be there to keep her daughter safe.
When she finds a disturbing drawing, dark and menacing, among her daughter’s brightly coloured paintings, Tess is convinced that Poppy has witnessed something terrible. Something that her young mind is struggling to put into words.
But no one will listen. It’s only a child’s drawing, isn’t it?

Not a novel for settings as this could take place anywhere. However, there are certain mentions of places and areas in the capital to help you guide yourself around. The real setting is inside disturbed minds although to see whose mind would be telling.
There’s a short visit to Chelmsford but again, this is just to remove the action a bit further out from the city.
If you notice a child drawing a violent picture and then acting odd, that is the only surrounding and background that are going to keep your eyes focused…
