In the idyllic seaside town of St Carys, Sophie is putting the past firmly behind her.

The author created St Carys for this novel and it’s a setting that’s very Jill Mansell in many ways. It’s fresh, full of life and warm so you just love spending time here.
You won’t find it on any map but that’s the beauty of it – it represents everything about the towns and villages of Cornwall that the author loves so much. She’s given it a gorgeous hotel, an esplanade, quirky shops, bars and restaurants and a fabulous surfing beach.
Her inspiration for the town is St Ives, since this is the place she often holidays in and so knows well.
