Richard dumps his wife Vanessa for a younger woman after many years of marriage. She struggles to put her life inorder after losing the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed. She can’t help obsessing over Richard’s new girlfriend however and when she hears they are about to marry, she wants to confront her.
Nellie is unaware of her stalker as she enjoys her new life with Richard. But is Nellie as innocent as she seems?
Vanessa and Nellie are on opposing sides. And in the middle? A man. Is he really the innocent at the heart of it all?2000s:
The city only really appears as a backdrop in the story but the places used and mentioned are to show the variety of wealth and the places where Vanessa remembers her old life and that which she lives now.
Nellie might work in Saks but it’s the store Vanessa used to shop in. The nice life with a house in Westchester – the very suburb of the city where Kykuit, the Rockefeller family’s opulent hilltop estate, is located with its terraced gardens and 20th-century statues.
There’s a nice mention of a posh Italian restaurant Sfoglia too where characters have a night out of sorts
Steven Spielberg’s film company have bought the rights to the story.
