2000s: A turf war breaks out between local gangsters and Bradford’s Immigrant community(Book 2 of the series)
Murder. Love. Corruption. DI Angus McGuire and the team are back and have their work cut out. Murdered prostitutes and a turf war between local gangsters takes the investigation into Bradford’s Immigrant communities where tensions run high. To make matters worse McGuire is juggling an illicit relationship with his boss’s daughter and has fraught family relations. Who is The Old Man? What is the link between three dead prostitutes and a long forgotten murder? Will McGuire and his team get the answers they want or is the uncomfortable truth much closer to home?
The city is shared between two vultures in this crime novel, Shahid Khan and Bazza Green who have been involved in a turf war despite having rubbed along together or years. Each had stuck to their own neck of Bradford but now this seems to be changing.
There is a serial killer stalking its streets:
“The dam vulture would be out in force yelling ‘serial killer’ and citing Bradford’s existing reputation with the Yorkshire Ripper and the Crossbow Cannibal”
This is the vice view of the city, Bradford with its cast of evil characters and both corruption outside its police force and within. This is a city where the immigration population live side by side with each other without integrating itw would seem and where , if there is a criminal in their midst, they remain hidden. Nothing seems to help the tensions of a city on the edge
