Dad Douglas Petersen is on a mission. He has decided to take his family on the road trip of all road trips, the holiday of all holidays – around Europe. They will visit cities in many countries and have the time of their life. Or at least that’s the plan. This modern day Grand Tour of Europe turns out to be a study into how many places it takes to unravel a marriage. Connie his wife has said about her worries for the relationship before they set off, but the journey turns out to be a make or break one. They’re not exactly addressing the white elephant in the room.
But in the meantime there’s one mammoth trail to be had!
Come on board on the Grand Tour of Europe! According to Douglas:
“There are ravines and great jagged peaks and hidden crevasses that send the both of you scrabbling into darkness. Then there are dull, parched stretches that you feel will never end, and much of the journey is in fraught silence, and sometimes you can’t see the other person at all, sometimes they drift off very far away from you, quite out of sight, and the journey is hard. It is just very, very hard.”
An arty stop and the first port of all for the family. Sadly though .”The city was more familiar than we wanted it to be….”
Louvre museum – See the Mona Lisa. Is this what Connie looks like when trying to hide her feelings about her marriage?
Musée d’Orsay – Another artistic place to visit on their tour.
Also called “the trendy dad of Europe”
Any trendy dad will definately want to visit the Rijksmusem although the cafe scene is described as wel. They take a look at the The Night Watch which is apparently the 4th most famous painting in the world.
The Juliet Balcony – A must see on this trip is the Juliet balcony!
The scene for the finale, the end of the journey and the end of the road ?
