2000s: The sequel to The Gilded Cage
Just when Faye thought everything was over, her very existence comes under threat once again.
Since The Gilded Cage, she has built a nice life abroad for herself, ex-husband Jack is in prison and her company Revenge is hugely successful. However, just when Revenge is going to be launched in the United States, a serious threat to the company suddenly rears its ugly head. Faye is forced to return to Stockholm and with the help of a hand-picked group of women, she struggles to save what is hers, herself and those she loves.
Italy
The city of Stockholm where this all began is still very much the focus of the novel and of Revenge. However, we start in Italy in the wonderful village of Ravi, Tuscany. This is where we find Faye holed up in a very nice place. She goes for walks and life is good. A visit to Rome provides her with a bit more action……and she even gets a chance to stay in a very nice hotel close to the Colisseum.
Sweden
Not long until we’re back in Sweden and across to Stockholm where Faye seems to be holed in the Grand Hotel. She’s having lunch, there’s a nice pool and the rooms are plush. The hotel is one of the grandest in the city so it goes without saying that Faye should spend time here.
Stureplan is also another place where it’s good to be seen in Stockholm and so Faye spend time in many bars in and around this area. Taverna Brillo is one of them Faye likes. Some very nice restaurants too such as Teatergrilen. Faye should do a fine dining book!
And there are some interesting places of interest for what happens there – the ATM at the corner of Karlavagen and Sturegatan for example…and the theme park of Grona Lund with the boats not far from it.
Inbetween the Stockholm visits, we have Faye’s hometown of Fjällbacka which is also where the author is from.
