Mackie is a violent drunk and is almost beaten up one night by two men. His ex-gangster uncle, Rab, has vanished too so things are not going well. But he has left him an empty house but that’s not exactly what he expects either.
PI sam Ireland is given the unenviable task of tracking Rab down, but this is a lot easier said than done. For Glasgow’s underbelly are also interested, but they’re not talking.
And then there’s DI Andy Lambert whose job seems to be to clean up after the lowlifes again.
This is a city which loves to play dirty. And the game has no rules…
This Glasgow is one gruesome mix of Trainspotting, Taggart on steroids and is as gritty as a gobstopper which you’ve half chewed, rolled around a gravel pit and then chewed once again.
This is the dank, dark, horrific underside of Glasgow. Dens of drugs and vice mix with dive bars and drunken alleyways. The characters who work in them, live near them, drink in them all have hidden secrets but then this is a world where once you’re in, you’re very unlikely to get out…alive at least.
Gritty Glasgow just got grittier. This tour won’t be on the board at the local tourist centre anytime soon!
