Why a Booktrail?
2000s: Just what do YOU share on social media? Who is watching you?
2000s: Just what do YOU share on social media? Who is watching you?
When a beautiful, aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, she has such an effect on him that he wants to know more about her and so Googles the name of her credit card.
By Googling her social media presence on line, he discovers a lot about her by merely looking at her Facebook and Twitter. It’s as if he’s chatting to a friend, but of course she is a stranger to him as he is to her….
And then a notification pops up – she’s meeting a friend in a bar in town. Joe decides to go along…
Then more ‘ chance meetings’ see Joe really get to know the girl from the bookshop. Really get into her life and her past, but she is none the wiser just who she’s really letting into her life.
No suggestion of doing a trail and following someone around the city for real of course but what we do recommend is going on a trail of bookshops in and around the East Village where Beck and Joe first ‘meet’ each other:
