Top Tips for BookShop Day

Bookshop Day is an annual, one day celebration of all high street bookshops. It’s tomorrow!!

The day has arrived!!

But as all bookworms know, we train for the full year before the actual day so we are fully prepared for it and all that it involves.

Bookshop Day 2024

Here’s what you should know about this key date in the Bookish Calendar

There are around 1000 bookshops (indie and otherwise) taking place. Now, buying a book from each one would be the ultimate goal..

There are often chocolates or snacks in these bookshops on the day.

Bookish bunting is in many shops

The booksellers are always friendly and lovely and if you say Happy Bookshop Day to them, they will smile like they have never smiled before.

You can buy as many books as you want, but if you are visiting more than one shop, pace yourself

Calories eaten on this day don’t count.

Money spent on this day doesn’t count in your weekly budget.

Remember, this is a marathon of a day and not a sprint. Having said that, you will need to consider the following:

Sensible shoes = trainers are preferred

A coat and scarf – to wrap books in to carry home if needed

BAGS – that’s obvious of course?

Coffee

More coffee

Cake

More cake

Calories do not count as was written earlier…

Have a fantastic bookish day!
