Bookshop spotlight – Lighthouse Books
Lighthouse Books, Edinburgh
A lovely shop in Edinburgh close to the meadows. A stroll across a leaf-strewn park takes you to this little green shop that might look tiny from the outside, it is big on the inside!
Lovely guy wearing a yellow beanie the day I went in – very chatty and helpful thank you and so sorry I didn’t get your name. Lots of recommendations. Books purchased of course.
Now just look at this store:
The customers seemed to be matching the green of the exterior the day I was there, but it could just be a coincidence. The store is a haven for books and gifts. There are LOTS of bookshelves of all sizes.
What really struck me about this store was the fact that there were lots of nice little touches in the form of displays, cute items on shelves and flowers on display. There were bags, flags and all manner of objects. Of course, the books were the main attraction. Just look at how they are displayed. Love a table display!
It was like being in book heaven – trees beside the window, sunlight streaming in and books as far as the eye could see. All so tidy but I still couldn’t help myself straighten one or two just to check. It’s a way of saying hello to books too isn’t it? stroking books.
If you can get to Lighthouse books, it does draw you in by the light of books. Whenever you are in the city of Edinburgh, it guides you there………..
