Booktrail reading challenges – Are YOU ready?
Booktrailers up and down the country rejoice! There are a few projects and challenges that you can get into that are proving to be a whole lot of fun and very exciting indeed?
We’re working with a series of bloggers and authors to get their book quite literally even more on the map than they are already. Bloggers are hosting articles and interviews and we’re putting all the maps and trails together.
Love Crime Thrillers? #BookOnTheMap
The lovely Cleo Bannister wants to look more into gory crime scenes….haha at least they’re fictional murders and crimes but a crime novel is not always about just the crime scenes themselves but the overall setting of the book. What is a enclosed community like? Why is a murder in a stunning countryside setting often more horrific?
If you yourself live in the place a book is set how does this make you feel? It’s lovely and surreal at the same time for me. I have walked in Vera’s footsteps, wandered around Grantchester in search of a rather dishy Vicar from the 1950s, and even dared to go and find Apple Tree Yard…. It’s such a thrill and when you see the scene for real that has been so evoked in the book, well there’s nothing like it.
Cleo is going to be hosting a series of articles from bloggers and writers who explain why setting is important to them, why as a writer they chose that setting and how as a reader who’s familiar with the area feels about it?
We’re going to have some fascinating discussions!!

Travel the UK in 144 books? – the ultimate way to keep fit!! #AroundTheWorldIn144Books
Then, if that’s not enough excitement, there’s three girls with backpacks full of books who have challenged each other and everyone else too to read the UK! There are 144 counties and so that means an awful lot of books – one from each county! Could you do it? Are you up for the challenge?
Their TBR pile is taller than Kilimanjaro!
Once again we’re putting the maps together and trailing them around the UK with some very interesting literary stops along the way! We’ll also be providing tea and sandwiches as they are on the road.
The Bear Gyurls of fiction!? Just look at these nicknames! Very cool hehe
