A novel to transport you to a lakeside cottage

This is not the first book the author has set at Lakeside cottage but this was my first visit. A cottage at Christmas sounds lovely and it was! There are Boxing Day wedding preparations going on and the cast of characters is fun to get to know. There’s numerous ex-wives, siblings, not to mention a bride with anxiety and more besides. It was like an episode of Don’t Tell the Bride mixed with Desperate Housewives at times but a lot of fun!

There were many poignant family moments in this story and given the family tree, they were all very unique. There’s lots of people to get to know and the links between them, but to be fair, it felt very realistically like a family gathering and I enjoyed being part of it.

It made me really want to head to a cottage for winter now. Christmas at Lakeside Cottage sounds lovely but personally, I wouldn’t’ want some of the family members there. I’d go tree hunting with them though as that sounded lovely.
