If you haven’t read the Bronte Sisters Detective series yet, then pick up book one and start your journey as this is good!

The Bronte sisters actually getting involved with investigating crimes is just a brilliant idea. They leave the wild familiarity of their Yorkshire moorland home and head to London. They’re to help a certain Mrs Robinson – the very women who their brother Branwell was involved with. Branwell’s story is often hidden in books (he was an alcoholic and philanderer who the sisters tried to help) and so having him in this series fascinating.

This book and series really feels as if it could be true to life. The sisters were investigators of a sort via their fiction and imagine what they would have achieved if doing police work too? Their individuality comes shining through and I feel that it is a great homage to the Bronte legacy. I think these books would make them smile and so it heightens my enjoyment of it immensely.

I enjoyed the escape to London as this gives the Brontes a new way to shine, but I will look forward to them returning to their Yorkshire moors. In the same way that I wanted Jane Eyre to get back to Rochester. You appreciate them more when you see them survive in a new landscape. Plus its always interesting from a booktrail point of view. Moving from green luscious Yorkshire to dirty grimy London was a brilliant move and it helped build their characters, test their reserve

I have to give a nod to the book cover and artwork. Brilliant. Well done that designer. Works of art every one.
