BookTrail Travel to Life and Otter Miracles

If you are feeling grumpy, down, sad or just tired in any way, this book is a  TONIC! 19 year old Phoebe has moved down to Devon  with her father and she’s feeling a bit lost. She’s also got an illness which means she is suffering quite badly from pain but doctors don’t seem to know what is wrong with her. She hasn’t really told her father about the extend of her suffering.  Not surprisingly, she is more or less house bound and scared to venture very far.

One day she comes across a baby otter named Coco. Wanting to save it, she takes it to the local otter sanctuary and meets Carol Blake. Carol and Coco are her chance to venture out into the world and to worry about more than just pain. Her world comes alive and oh the joy to see her here and interact with the cute otters! I was half in mind to drive down to Devon and find some otters myself. Did you know they hold hands in water so they don’t drift away from each other? Too cute!

Phoebe also opens up as she loves books such as Sherlock Holmes. She’s got that kind of mind so uses it to discover things about the sanctuary and her new home.

I just loved this book and what a tonic! Fresh and fun, emotional and heartbreaking in equal measure. I wanted to immediately get up and go to a sanctuary of some sorts as my heart was craving a cuddle with an otter or similar. There was just a ribbon of warmth wrapped around this and I loved it!

I am very tempted to buy a toy otter and sit it beside this novel.
